The position:
To join and support our growing consulting team, we are looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to join our MRA team in our Sydney office. Candidates should have a background in administration and an interest in the waste and recycling industry.
What you can expect:
This role will see you provide PA support for MRA’s Managing Director including but not limited to reception duties, diary and email management, coordination of travel and events and business development support. This role will see you provide primary support to the Managing Director while supporting the broader MRA business as needed. Ideally, you are studying Business Administration or a related subject or hold qualifications and/or experience in the administration and office support sector

- Diary management
- Travel and accommodation arrangements
- Event/Conference organising
- Overall Administration support to the consultant team
- Creating, editing and formatting templates and assisting with administration procedures
- Mail-outs
- Ad-hoc office and administrative tasks, such as stationery orders
Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Personal Assistant duties:
- Diary management
- Travel and event coordination
- Day-to-day office and admin tasks
- Research and draft/editing for presentations
- Drafting of proposals/tender schedules
- Formatting in word and pdf
- IT support
Reception duties
- Answering inquiries via phone and email
- Prepare and cater for events, internal and client meetings
Office & admin tasks
- Print, compile and bind documents
- Office maintenance
- Mail outs and post
- Project administration in Scoro (MRA’s project management system)
- Preparation and support with development and implementation of MRA policies and procedures
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience working in busy office in supporting role
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal (English)
- Be focused on accuracy and high attention to detail
- Have a positive ‘can do’ work ethic and ‘out-of-the-box’-thinking
- Demonstrable ability to work in a team and relate easily with people at all levels in the organisation
- Advanced Microsoft MS Office skills
- Basic knowledge in PDF software
- IT problem solving ability
- Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and manage high workload
- Be confident and outgoing, with the ability to adapt quickly and manage changing priorities
- Approachable and friendly
- Some flexibility in working hours is required to support staff
Method of working
You will gain experience across all the units within MRA. You will be required to undertake this work through:
- Liaison with MRA staff either over the phone or face to face or via email
- Summarising qualitative research in text documents
- Collating quantitative research in excel documents
- Active participation in project activities
- Attending meetings
Our expectations of you:
As an MRA team member you will be expected to:
- Use your project work as an opportunity to develop a sound understanding of the waste industry (through background reading, reading current publications, attending relevant seminars etc. where advised)
- Attend fortnightly team meetings
- Ensure you have the information you require to undertake any work given to you and to inform the project manager or business director where you are unsure
- To show a positive attitude to taking on work, subject to your availability (and university commitments if relevant)
