The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for Legal Assistant at intermediate/senior level to provide exceptional support to the firm’s Principal Director.
The successful candidate will have a mature nature and be an effective communicator with not only the principal, but clients, other staff members, and all parties alike – always extolling the firm’s values of authenticity and kind regard.
Skills and experience
- At least 5 years of Personal Assistant and/or legal secretary Family Law experience
- A willingness and motivation to learn and develop in this role
- Experience with the systemisation and collation of financial disclosure with regards to Family Law property matters
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills with fast typing speed
- Experience with LEAP legal software and e-Brief Ready
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a can-do-attitude
- Ability to work independently and pro-actively seek to problem-solve when required
- Ability to follow direction, adapt to change and evolve with the firm’s systems and processes
- Experience and understanding of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Central Practice Direction with regards to Family Law, legal documents and processes and maintaining client confidentiality.
Job Description
- Extensive diary management for all client and personal appointments, Court and family commitments and meetings with Counsel
- Managing disclosure document collation for property matters and assist with the setup and maintenance of an effective process for managing disclosure
- Comprehensive Task management and completion including regular meetings and communications with Principal to manage workload and deadlines.
- Answering phone calls from clients and manage new enquiries in a friendly, helpful and efficient manner.
- Data entry and file management of client files
- Other administrative duties that may arise.
