Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian. *Please note - Affirmative Measures provisions are also open for these positions. A new role awaits
The Complex Support Needs (CSN) Pathway aims to provide specialised support for people with disability who experience personal and situational factors that are beyond the scope of the typical NDIS Pathway. The CSN Pathway has dedicated planning teams and a network of skilled planners with experience working with specific complex support cohorts such as justice, psychosocial and/or with allied health experience.

You will work with a reasonable degree of autonomy with a focus on providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.Not every day will be the same and being adaptable is the key to success. Your primary focus of this role include:
Supporting Complex Support Needs participants and their families to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Engaging with Participants and their families to review NDIS Plans and support them with a case monitoring function.
Supporting vulnerable participants linking in with Government & Community service systems.
Analyse data, review information and assess risk to support participant outcomes.
Regularly assess work priorities and respond to participant critical needs and changes in their life.
Develop relationships and engage with multiple internal & external stakeholders to support positive participant outcomes
Managing a caseload of participants aligned with the CSN case management model.

This position will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues.To join our team, you will have:
A positive contemporary attitude to people with disability, a high level of disability awareness and an understanding of the impact this may have for individuals.
Allied Health experience (highly desirable).
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks.
Experience working with Government mainstream services.
The ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Be able to work autonomously as part of a high performing Team.

While these roles can be performed from Deakin, Sydney, Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Geelong, or Perth, other remote working locations may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
