PERSOLKELLY are in partnership with our client based in Beresefield (Newcastle) who are a global oil manufacturing copamny. As a result of their ongoing growth, an exciting opportunity exists within their vibrant and friendly team looking for a Planning / Purchasing officer.
Role Overview:
As the Planning and Purchasing Officer, you will be at the heart of the operations, ensuring seamless execution of production schedules and efficient purchasing processes. Your ability to optimize inventory levels while meeting customer demands will be critical to our success.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Production scheduler to help develop and maintain a rolling 3-month Master Production Plan for designated products.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to execute production plans and defined schedules.
- Analyse current and future demand requirements to develop short- and long-range production plans.
- Continuously optimize production schedules with the production scheduler to meet customer demands while minimising inventory levels.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency enhancements. Leverage Power BI tools to improve processes.
- Place orders for Production materials to meet production schedule.
- Engage with suppliers to develop relationships and manage any supply shortages to maintain manufacturing schedule.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working within a Purchasing / Planning or related role.
- High standards of customer service.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to work with in a team.
- A capability to think outside the box to find solutions.
