Randstad is currently on the hunt for a Plant Manager for our clients located in the South-West suburbs of Brisbane. This is an opportunity for someone to join a well established Chemical Manufacturer who has been operating for over 40 years.
Based out of one of their manufacturing sites in Brisbane, our clients are looking for someone who has a chemical background, worked within the manufacturing industry previously and is passionate about leading a team. YOUR DAY TO DAY:
The Plant Manager will play a vital role in the operations and maintenance of the
chemical manufacturing plant. This position requires a motivated and detail-oriented
individual with a strong aptitude for technical tasks and a keen sense of safety.
- Work within a collaborative team environment to ensure the smooth and efficient production of chemicals while adhering to stringent quality and safety standards.
- Assist in quality control activities, conducting visual inspections and tests to verify the quality of produced chemicals, and documenting results accurately.
- Monitor equipment performance, process parameters, and environmental conditions to identify deviations or issues and take corrective actions as needed.
- Manage the plant team, including engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Technical or vocational training in chemical processing or a related field is preferred.
- Experience managing a team within a chemical manufacturing industry is a highly desirable
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing, production, or industrial setting is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of chemical processes, equipment operations, and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to following established procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of the production schedule.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
