Randstad is currently on the hunt for a Plant Manager for our clients located in the South-West suburbs of Brisbane. This is an opportunity for someone to join a well established Chemical Manufacturer who has been operating for over 40 years.
Based out of one of their manufacturing sites in Brisbane, our clients are looking for someone who has a chemical background, worked within the manufacturing industry previously and is passionate about leading a team. This role will give you the opportunity to be a part of a company with fantastic staff retention and growth opportunities.

YOUR DAY TO DAY:
The Plant Manager will play a vital role in the operations and maintenance of the
chemical manufacturing plant. This position requires a motivated and detail-oriented
individual with a strong aptitude for technical tasks and a keen sense of safety.

  • Work within a collaborative team environment to ensure the smooth and efficient production of chemicals while adhering to stringent quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in quality control activities, conducting visual inspections and tests to verify the quality of produced chemicals, and documenting results accurately.
  • Monitor equipment performance, process parameters, and environmental conditions to identify deviations or issues and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage the plant team, including engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
  • Technical or vocational training in chemical processing or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience managing a team within a chemical manufacturing industry is a highly desirable
  • Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing, production, or industrial setting is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of chemical processes, equipment operations, and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to following established procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of the production schedule.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
