The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a motivated individual who will support the service delivery of BVSC’s environmental health services including surveillance of on-site sewage management systems, plumbing inspections, and drinking water quality management.
As a Plumbing and Drainage Compliance Officer, you will inspect and regulate Plumbing and Drainage installations. You will assist or relieve Building Certification team by carrying out drainage inspections on new development as directed by the Manager of Certification and Compliance.

About You
We are seeking an individual who Certificate III or equivalent in Plumbing and has demonstrated skills in public consultation and public education/information practices.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in Plumbing and Drainage (including on-site sewage)
- Knowledge of the legislation pertinent to the role, including (but not limited to): Environment Planning and Assessment Act 1979; Local Government Act 1993; Public Health Act 2010; Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997.
- Sound level of written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise, negotiate and mediate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound level of analytical and investigative skills.
This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $77,835,68 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1348.50 per week base salary
- $148.34 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
- Allowances for the position available per week
- Leaseback vehicle
- Rostered day off scheme (one per month)
- Additional allowances (as per the Award)
- Annual Award salary increases and performance reviews
