A practical Senior Designer (Civil) with extensive road design experience and demonstrated knowledge of design and drafting software, required to join our government clients team to provide expert technical advice to the south coast region on a raft of transport infrastructure projects
Duties:
In the role of Senior Designer (Civil) you will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment and participate in the delivery of planning and design projects as components of transport infrastructure projects and provide expert technical advice and support to the transport infrastructure functional areas in the Region.
Reporting to the Team Leader / Principal Designer (Civil), your responsibilities will include:
- Provide expert technical advice and support in relation to planning and detail design processes for transport infrastructure projects aligned with the relevant phases of corridor planning, program development, program delivery, and program finalisation.
- Deliver and at times supervise the development of transport infrastructure design models in the strategic planning, concept, development, and implementation phases of an overarching transport framework for the delivery of projects.
- Ensure that planning and design principles are implemented in accordance with the relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management procedures are adhered to.
- Assist with the review of external design consultancy provision of design services.
- Provide expert support and advice, including problem resolution, to various stakeholders on the planning and design process for successful completion of transport infrastructure projects.
- Development of effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.
Skills and experience:
- Minimum three year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree
- Must hold a current "C" class drivers licence and clean driving history
- Recent Criminal History Check (inside 3 months or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to develop road designs using 12d and AutoCad
- Demonstrate sound governance and adherence to quality management procedures
- Ability to prepare contract documentation project specifications, drawings and costings
- Provide support and advice ensuring value for money and best practice are achieved
- Ability to develop and mobilise talent and stimulate innovation
- Confident with the ability to effectively communicate your ideas
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrate sound governance
