Reporting to Team Leader / Principal Designer (Civil) you will develop planning/preliminary design and detail design projects, and provide expert technical advice across a range of civil areas when required. You will be a practical 3-dimensional designer with extensive Road Design experience and sound knowledge of design and drafting software packages.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop Road Designs utilising 12d and AutoCad.
- Ensure adherence to quality management procedures.
- Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure fit for purpose, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Develop and supervise the preparation of contract documentation, project specifications, drawings and cost estimates.
- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the planning and design of road infrastructure projects.
- Coach and mentor less experience staff in both technical and business aspects of design and design management.
- Undertake sound financial and other business practices within the design team/unit.
- Undertake a senior role in project delivery, encourage teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Responsible to develop and coordinate the work activities of projects, monitor project timeframes and prioritise tasks to deliver projects and regional requirements.
- A minimum three year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or acceptable equivalent.
- Current holder of a “C” class driver’s licence preferable.
