About the role:
As a Policy Manager, you will lead your team to deliver key strategic policy functions and initiatives related to the resources industry.
You will enjoy delivering significant policy and legislative reforms, including actions from the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan and Queensland Critical Minerals Strategy.
Your experience in providing high-level policy support, advice and guidance on resources policy and legislative issues will support the department and the resources sector to successfully navigate the transition to zero net emissions and a circular economy.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience in providing high-level policy advice and recommend initiatives for sustainable development of mineral and petroleum resources in Queensland.
- Lead consultations and negotiations with industry stakeholders on complex issues in the resources sector, while maintaining positive working relationships and partnerships.
- Managed government projects to meet departmental and broader objectives.
- Ability to prepare and oversee complex reports, submissions, and legislation for senior management.
- Coordinated divisional requirements and team priorities, exercising judgement and high-level influence.
Some requirements that we see as essential/desirable:
- The possession of a current C class driver's licence is desirable.
- Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods.
