About the role:
As a Policy Officer, you will provide high-level policy support, advice and guidance on a range of mining, petroleum and gas policy initiatives and issues.
You will enjoy undertaking an analysis of complex policy and legislative issues and contributing to the development of policy solutions.
Your experience in collaborating with key stakeholders aids the division in achieving policy outcomes and deliver on government commitments.
To be successful you will have:
- Capability to support the delivery of the department's actions under the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan.
- Undertaken analysis of complex policy and legislative issues relating to the State's mining, petroleum and gas sectors and contribute to the development of policy solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and/or contributing to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
- Worked collaboratively with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry and non-government organisations to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on government commitments.
- Ability to represent the department at meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups as required.
Some requirements that we see as essential/desirable:
- Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods.
