Your new company Our client is a highly respected, generalist law firm with clients all around Australia. They have an excellent reputation and are known for their positive work culture and progression. A rare opportunity has arisen for a Practice Manager to join their team out of their Central Gold Coast office. This is a permanent full-time role and requires a strong all-rounder with at least some previous law firm experience in a similar role. It's a rare position and a great opportunity to join a close-knit team and manage the day-to-day running of the firm. Your new role This exciting opportunity will be supporting the wider team of solicitors and paralegals of the firm and work towards collective success. You will liaise very closely with internal staff members and help grow the firm's culture. You will have the opportunity to make the role your own and this is a very diverse position. Duties include:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm and ensuring the seamless and effective execution of all administrative functions
Manage the administration team, which includes a receptionist, administrative assistants, legal assistants, and paralegals
Develop and implement strategies for achievement of practice goals, including new enquiries, marketing initiatives and compliance with internal processes
Oversee all the building and facilities management of the firm
Engage and manage external suppliers, including IT and software providers, to ensure efficient functioning, high quality services and continuous improvement
Managing all HR functions of the business, including preparation of contracts, new employee onboarding and induction program, annual performance reviews and performance management
Manage the recruitment function of the business, including development of position descriptions, advertisements and engaging with external recruiters
Manage the co-ordination of client and staff functions as well as marketing and business development events (e.g. workshops, seminars)
Oversee and assist with the coordination of precedent development
Escalation point for all operational queries or issues
Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships
Drafting and applying firm policies and procedures
What you'll need to succeed To be considered, you will have recent experience as an Office/Practice Manager within the legal industry. The ideal candidate would have:
Managing professional and support staff (including ongoing policies and procedures)
Processing professional indemnity calculations and insurance
QLS PC renewals and assist with CPD
Processing Insurance for business, life, vehicle, workcover, cyber & premises
Recruitment and internal support staff
QLS Trust Account compliance (including PEXA and controlled monies)
Management reporting
Debtor and Matter control
Regularly liaise with Accountant, Business Banker and Owner Partners
Cashflow and expenditure management
Day to day operations
