AddressGhan Medical Centre is a busy practice in Port Augusta, established in 2013 and since then has grown to service around 6,000 patients in and around the region.
We are looking for a reliable full-time Practice Nurse to start immediately. Part-time can also be negotiated.
Ghan Medical Centre is a family-operated medical centre and currently has two full time GPs, who work Monday - Friday.
The practice is closed on weekends and public holidays.
We are a small friendly team with supportive colleagues who care for the community.
The role
This position will be responsible for the co-ordination of patient health assessments and General Practitioners Medical Plans –GPMP (care plans), and to assist in an effective, efficient functioning clinic service.
Ghan Medical Centre covers many areas of nursing practice including women’s health, men’s health, aged care, infection control, Chronic Disease Management including cardiovascular, asthma and diabetes care, immunisation, mental health, maternal and child health, health promotion, wound management and illness prevention.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Administrative and Nursing support with Health Assessments and Care Plans for GP's
- Writing records and keeping patients’ notes up to date
- Treating wounds and applying dressings
- Providing emergency first aid and treatment
- Giving advice, education and information about health conditions and ailments, stopping smoking and losing weight
- Taking patient samples, swabs and specimens, and checking pulses, ECG, temperatures and blood pressures
- Administering adult and childhood immunisations
- Liaising with other health care professionals
- Covid-19 trained

Must have current AHPRA registration, CPR, First Aid, Police clearance and Working with Children, up to date Indemnity insurance, and current up to date vaccination status including Covid-19, and be able to practice in country South Australia.
