SalaryThe South Brisbane Day Hospital is a 5 x theatre, 1 procedure room freestanding facility. Our services include Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery & Oral/Maxillo-facial. Our facility is open Monday to Friday. We are located at 87 Ipswich Road Woolloongabba.
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Pre-Admission/ Admission Nurse to join our team. We will consider Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses for the role.
The Pre-admission / Admission Nurse is part of a multi-disciplinary team that by early intervention seeks to provide optimum outcomes for patients undergoing surgical procedures whilst supporting the Vision and Values of the South Brisbane Day Hospital.
Duties include:
- obtain medical history from patients via telephone interview
- facilitate day of surgery admissions
- collaborate with Anaesthetists / Surgeons to assess patient health history and suitability for surgery at our Day Hospital
- complete all necessary admission documentation to facilitate smooth and timely admission
- welcoming and admitting patients on day of surgery
- commence discharge planning process
- keep activity statistics as required
- provide required information prior to admission
