The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35-minute drive from the Perth CBD. The City provides the opportunity to work in a diverse environment from rural, natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Approval Services, this role will see you coordinating a team of Building Surveyors to carry out assessments, determinations and inspections on new and existing buildings and structures within the City of Kalamunda. The position monitors, interprets and formulates strategies/programs, policies, work practices, procedures and resource allocation to achieve desired corporate outcomes.
Selection Criteria
- Building Surveyors Certificate of Registration Level 1 or Level 2
- Proven effective skills in leadership and management of a team.
- Ability to work under limited direction and exercise autonomy in coordinating Building services.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Sound understanding of Local Government functions, applicable statutory requirements and laws.
- Experience monitoring budgets, funding and revenue opportunities proactively sought and expenditure reduction initiatives proactively implemented.
- High quality and accurate presentation of advice or instruction both verbally and in writing, including compiling reports.
- Strategic and operational planning experience.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight. We offer flexible work arrangements, including a fortnightly rostered day off and up to two days per week working from home.
About the Benefits
The salary range for this position is $112,800 - $120,067 p.a. (depending on skills and experience), plus superannuation. Other benefits include annual increments, industrial agreement salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, 22 days annual leave with 17.5% loading, working from home and rostered days off. Employee benefits also includes corporate health insurance discounts, discounted membership at City owned facilities and novated leases. Pool cars are available for use for business related travel.
