About the role:
As the Principal Policy Officer, you will contribute to the department's actions under the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan, conducting research, analysis, and provide expert advice on policy issues in mining, petroleum, and gas sectors.
You will enjoy managing multiple projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and representing the department at various forums.
Your ability to provide timely, high level advice will be used to recommend policy and legislative options for optimal and responsible use of Queensland's resources.
To be successful you will have:
• Ability to contribute to departmental actions under the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan.
• Experience in conducting research and analysis to assist with policy issues in mining, petroleum, and gas sectors.
• Demonstrated ability in the provision of expert advice and recommendations of policy options for optimal use of resources.
• Managed projects and deliver policy outcomes that aligned with government direction.
• Proficiency in collaborating, negotiating, and representing the department in various forums.
You will have proven policy experience, strong project management skills, ability to work with discretion, with excellent coordination, facilitation, and communication skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
Some requirements that we see as essential/desirable:
• The possession of a current C class driver's licence is desirable.
• Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for extended periods.
