About the role:
We are seeking an experienced policy officer with a keen interest in strategy, as an exciting full-time opportunity has become available for a motived Principal Policy Officer to join our team.
The Principal Policy Officer – Strategy is responsible for ensuring timely and high quality economic and policy advice is provided to the Agency Executive, the Minister and other agencies on a range of Departmental matters related to industry, innovation, science, workforce development and small business policy and service delivery. The role is also responsible for delivering strategic and complex development of priority programs, policies and advice, particularly intergovernmental and cross-agency matters, which support Agency, State and National objectives.
As an ideal candidate for the role, you will show high level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and liaise effectively at a senior level and with people from diverse backgrounds, and you will have the ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues to provide policy advice.
Key Selection Criteria:
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:
- Proven strong conceptual and policy analytical thinking abilities, with a capacity to interpret and synthesise disparate information at the macro level.
- Proven knowledge of, or the demonstrated ability to quickly develop a comprehensive knowledge of, industry, innovation, science, workforce development and/or small business and associated economic concepts, frameworks, requirements and opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in building relationships, with a track record of effective collaboration across diverse stakeholders at both executive and operational levels.
- Proven experience in researching and writing policy advice, analysis, reports, and timely briefings on significant and sensitive policy issues to Ministers, executive and senior levels across the public and private sectors.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary (ASO7$104,938 min - $113,435 max pa) plus superannuation
