Wood APAC Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects ranging from studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally.
Responsibilities:
We can offer you a career in the ever-expanding battery and magnet metals industry driving the decarbonization of the globe. In this highly visible role, some tasks and responsibilities you will undertake may include (but not limited to):
- Manage and execute the delivery of best practice process plant designs and associated services in designated studies and projects in-line with Wood's organizational objectives and client requirements
- Ensure the team maintains a leading edge technical capability through the development of people, designs, industry contacts, new technologies and innovative practices
- Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities
- Provide technical guidance and advice to other functional departments and the wider organisation as required
- Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews
- Assist the business development team in identifying business opportunities, preparing high calibre proposals and developing client relationships
- Undertake site visits to support study and project work requirements as required
What will set you apart from other applicants will be your previous experience as a Process Engineer at a large Engineering company, working on hydrometallurgical plant design. Experience with commodities such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper/gold and rare earths would be highly regarded.
You will also have:
- A minimum of 15 years' experience in the mining or minerals processing industry
- Relevant process plant operational experience
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
- Experience with metallurgical balancing and simulation software such as SysCAD and/or METSIM is essential
