Technical aspects of these projects include surface water hydrology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, pit lakes, slope stability, landform design (including backfill/buttressing, surface water diversion and spillways), geotechnical investigations, surface rehabilitation and revegetation, contaminated sites management and post closure monitoring and maintenance.Based in Perth, Western Australia. A requirement of this role is intermittent travel to site for short periods, when required.Overseeing and developing Project Engineering strategies, engineering inputs and managing Engineering Service Provider(s) (ESPs) and other external technical consultants/specialists, to ensure the technical outputs are optimised. This includes enabling safe and efficient construction and handover of closed, rehabilitated or remediated assets.The Project Engineer acts as a single point of contact for all Project Engineering and engineering management inputs and deliverables. The Project Engineer is effectively the project's engineering lead/manager and will:
- Provide a proactive safety focus in both design and execution work.
- Drive effective engineering outcomes through proactive ESP performance management, facilitation of design development workshops and reviews, and enabling timely delivery of engineering deliverables by ensuring Owner input is provided appropriately.
- Drive Engineering Effectiveness though identification and realisation of Engineering Scope Optimisation and Value Engineering opportunities through the project.
- Support the Study and/or Delivery Lead with the development of key project deliverables in accordance with Our Requirements and the Minerals Australia Projects Internal Standard.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in projects.
- Strong Project Engineering/Engineering Management experience.
- Experience working with or managing ESPs and deliverable development.
- Civil / Environmental Engineer or similar discipline with mine closure, rehabilitation or remediation experience.
