The role
Reporting to the Executive Advisor, you will lead and facilitate project management processes including procurement, governance, assurance, communication and engagement, financial controls, reporting, and ongoing high-level contribution for the design, implementation, and evaluation of project activities in Forensic Science Queensland.
Leading and managing the successful implementation of project initiatives and processes to ensure intended benefits are realised, you will:
- Develop and implement best practice project management principles, practices, and methodologies and tools to facilitate effective project delivery, including processes for monitoring and reporting on projects
- Research, analyse, interpret, and assimilate complex information for the development of papers, briefing documents, submissions, plans, detailed reports
- Provide timely, high-quality advice and support to project stakeholders and owners
- Identify, analyse and progress strategic and operational issues and risks, providing recommendations and advice to senior executives and key stakeholders
The successful person
You will have:
- Highly developed project management skills, with success delivering enabled projects in large complex organisations, including the ability to lead procurement, governance and change management activities
- Experience providing leadership to and facilitating change management processes and business change decision-making to achieve project objectives and benefits realisation
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a range of activities and issues with constrained timeframes and conflicting priorities
- Strong communication and consultation skills including stakeholder engagement, negotiation and facilitation, with highly effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
About us
Located at Coopers Plains, Brisbane, FSQ operates specialised Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry and Forensic Operations functions that provides forensic services and expert advice to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Coroner's Court of Queensland.
Our work at FSQ involves exposure to material related to deaths and criminal offences that may be confronting, due to its graphic and personal nature. Sensitive and professional management of exhibits and information is a critical requirement of this role. The successful candidate will have personal qualities that include well developed resilience, tact and effective strategies for managing themselves and their ability to support colleagues in situations that may be distressing and stressful.
Please note that proposed legislative and structural changes may result in Forensic Science Queensland being moved to another agency within Queensland Public Sector.
