This is a unique opportunity to work with Entura’s Renewables Development team on Solar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects and hybrid energy projects combining BESS, wind, solar and thermal generation.
As Entura continues to grow our teams to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Principal Renewable Energy Engineer to join our Renewables Development team.
Whilst the primary focus of this position will be on Solar PV Design BESS projects, the role will also cover development of technical specifications, evaluation of equipment, advice on project implementation as well as commissioning activities, you will also have the opportunity to be exposed to other forms of Renewable Energy, such solar and hybrid projects.
Entura is working with a range of Australian Renewable Energy project developers, where we provide technical expert advice around project development and implementation. We have a long track record of working with the Pacific Island Nations delivering technical solutions and support on their journey to become 100% renewable.
What you’ll bring:
Some of your key skills and experience may include:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline or experience as required for admission as a member of Engineers Australia, or another appropriate professional body.
- At least 10 years’ experience in Renewable Energy PV power systems with an emphasis on their , design (layout and or system) and installation.
- Experience in Energy Yield Assessment
- Computer literacy particularly in advanced engineering software experience and demonstrated knowledge of
- Experience with the specification, procurement and installation of renewable generation systems, such as solar PV, wind, BESS & control.
- Provide Battery Storage System engineering advice on:
- Modelling and Sizing of Solution
- Equipment evaluation and development of technical specifications
- Provide PV design and layout activities including:
- Documentation of solar PV system including handling of AutoCAD drawings
- Manage and undertake Renewable Energy specific project requirements with focus on solar and hybrid, including:
- Feasibility studies and modelling
- Concept designs and yield estimation

The role is ideally based in our Hobart or Melbourne office however flexible work arrangements can be considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
