As Entura is currently growing to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking a Principal Controls Engineer - Hybrid Energy to be part of our Renewables Development team.
In this role you will provide leading technical engineering advice and expertise in hybrid control systems through all stages of off grid and on grid hybrid power system development, including hybrid control system solution identification, conceptualisation, specification & design and commissioning for hybrid systems. You will also work alongside a team of highly renowned technical and thought leaders within this discipline.
Entura is working with a range of Australian Renewable Energy project developers, where we provide technical expert advice around project development and implementation. We have a long track record of working with the Pacific Island Nations delivering technical solutions and support on their journey to become 100% renewable.
What you’ll bring:
Some of your key skills and experience may include:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline or experience as required for admission as a member of Engineers Australia, or another appropriate professional body.
At least 10 years’ experience in Renewable Energy hybrid power systems with an emphasis on their control, covering, design (layout and or system) and installation.
Experience in the integration of generation, protection and control systems utilising advanced control and communications equipment, as well as experience in the design and installation of hybrid energy power systems at utility scale.
Computer literacy particularly in advanced engineering software experience and demonstrated knowledge of PLC control system hardware/software from a major vendor such as Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric, or Siemens and its use.
Demonstrable abilities in Control system design and testing including data communications protocols/interfaces, networking, device programming and device configuration.
Experience with the specification, procurement, and installation of renewable generation systems, such as solar PV, wind, BESS & control.
Demonstrated exposure to and use of project management principles including scope, budget, and timeline preparation.
This role is ideally based in our Hobart or Melbourne office however flexible work locations are considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
