Your new role
Due to recent successes, the organisation is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Primary and Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering and Commissioning team. Your mission is to provide expert electrical engineering services to support your clients throughout every phase of their project, including concept design, detailed design, technical due diligence, owner's engineer roles during design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations and maintenance. In this pivotal role, you will engage in a diverse range of projects and activities, including:
- Concept to Detailed Design: Lead the development of efficient and constructable electrical systems design (HV primary, secondary, MV recalculation, etc.) with a particular focus on HV substations, solar farm, windfarm, and BESS electrical balance of plant.
- Technical Reviews: Review and develop technical specifications, bill of materials, design reviews for compliance with relevant standards, lead safety in design and constructability reviews.
- Project Development & Delivery: Participate in project development and delivery activities. Support the tendering and procurement activities. Provide technical guidance and support to the delivery teams during construction.
- Commissioning Support: Collaborate on commissioning and compliance activities, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Project Coordination: Manage design and engineering activities to meet project timelines and budgets effectively
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in HV electrical engineering, particularly in substations and renewables Balance of Plan design, with a preference for local energy infrastructure experience.
- Strong knowledge of the HV energy network, electric power transmission, distribution systems, design standards, and protection/control systems in substations.
- Familiarity with design development, review processes, and testing and commissioning activities for electrical substations. Experience in utility-scale solar or wind farms is a plus.
- Suitable for registration with Engineers Australia.
- Proficiency in technical report writing and clear presentation of findings
