Principal Right To Information Officer

The RTI, Privacy, Records Management and Redress is responsible for processing applications for access to and amendment of documents under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act); processing requests for information under other access schemes; Information Privacy policy and implementation and Open Data and Disclosure Log publication approvals.

The primary role of this position is to make decisions on applications for complex and sensitive access and amendment under the RTI Act, IP Act and document access requests under administrative or other access schemes, and to provide policy and operational advice.

The position liaises with the Office of the Information Commissioner and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal in relation to reviewable decisions under the RTI and IP Acts. The position is responsible for legal research and drafting as required.
