The Process Control Engineer reports to the Specialist – Operational Technology.
The primary responsibility of the role is to provide operational support and maintenance for the Process Control systems of the Fimiston Plant, Gidji Plant and the Kalgoorlie Air Monitoring Network (KAMN) air quality stations to ensure information generation and support process efficiency. ** This is a residential role based at our KCGM Operations on 5/2/4/3 (9 hour shifts). The successful applicant will reside in the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region.
** Essential skills and experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar role. Demonstrated ability to identify potential problems and react in a timely manner with a proven solution. Excellent process analysis and technical problem-solving skills.
Keen technical aptitude and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Strong understanding of Process Control fundamentals and advanced control concepts. Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
Preferred Experience & Competencies A tertiary qualification in relevant Engineering, Metallurgy or Science discipline, related Trade Qualifications, or minimum of five years experience in Distribution Control Systems (DCS) in an automated industrial environment. Strong knowledge of mineral processing unit operations. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience.
Instrument installation and calibration experience. Understanding of computer server hardware and Windows operating systems. Understanding of industrial Ethernet and data communication networks.
Additional training in DCS and advanced control techniques, network administration and Windows Server/Domain Administration.
