About the role
We work across a multitude of projects, you will be required to work as design engineer for projects relating to anaerobic digestion, landfill, composting and waste-to-energy.
The role will play a key role in supporting the project teams to deliver end-to-end projects from concept design & feasibility assessment through to detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover; as well as delivering engineering consulting/advisory on a variety of projects.
You will be assisting junior engineers and management with a variety of tasks relating to process design engineering. In the role you will be required to undertake:
- front-end design and feasibility + report writing
- detailed process design + associated calculations
- verification and validation of calculations and modelling
- equipment specification, procurement and handover
- assist/supervise other technical staff where required
This position is located at Sumner Park, ~25 minutes from Brisbane city centre and close to amenities like Mt Ommaney shopping centre and a number of cafes. Access to the office is convenient from the Centenary Highway or adjacent bikeway.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in chemical or Process Engineering required
- Strong team skills required
- 2+ years experience in a similar deign role
- A hands-on approach to dealing with projects, clients and technical issues and an ability to work independently is required
- Ability to develop engineering drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, piping etc) and documentation (functional description,control philosophy, calculation reports etc) is required.
- Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of process design, technical & economic modelling, plant layout equipment sizing and selection etc.
- Exposure to safety in design, participation in HAZOP and design reviews would be advantageous
- Experience using process modelling software such as Aspen HYSYS or similar
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience in a similar industry – biogas, anaerobic digestion, solid waste, composting, landfill gas, wastewater treatment etc.
- RPEQ is not required but would be highly regarded
- Hazardous area class not essential but knowledge of would be a plus
- Whilst project dependent, there may be some domestic and international travel required for short periods . Site engineering or construction experience will also be highly regarded.
