About the Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive Procurement & Estimating Manager to oversee strategic Procurement and project cost estimation. This position will play a crucial role in supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management to ensure projects are executed efficiently and within budget. Expertise in both Procurement and estimation processes is essential for effective budget management, streamlined workflows, and successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead by example, inspiring team members to achieve excellence through your own actions and dedication.
- Foster a culture of accountability and empowerment, guiding team members towards success while promoting growth and development.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors, defining pricing, agreements, and construction scope.
- Manage standard inclusion lists and product selections in collaboration with Sales/Admin teams.
- Develop and maintain supplier and subcontractor profiles for efficient project planning.
- Implement procurement strategies, agreements, and terms.
- Manage Bills of Quantity (BOQ) library and scopes of work.
- Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Analyse spend data for cost-saving opportunities and streamline processes.
- Manage supplier contracts, partnerships, and tender processes.
- Review and refine procurement processes and investigate errors.
- Stay updated on local market materials and trends.
- Oversee project cost estimation for accuracy.
- Analyse project specifications and technical drawings for cost assessment.
- Determine material quantities and subcontractor costs.
- Conduct pricing forecasts and analysis for accurate project budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
- Continuously improve estimation processes and tools.
- Monitor project costs and prepare cost estimates and reports.
- Foster relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Extensive experience in Procurement and estimation within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and establish favourable supplier and subcontractor agreements.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, pricing, and market trends.
- Proven track record in cost management, budgeting, and delivering projects within set financial targets.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyse data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent understanding of procurement strategies, contract management, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively lead and mentor a team of estimators and procurement professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality in cost estimation and procurement processes.
- Proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving, able to identify and mitigate risks in Procurement and contracting activities.
