Procurement and Supply Superintendent
Based in Townsville, Pacific Marine Group (PMG) is a growing business at the forefront of the Maritime Industry in Northern Australia and the Pacific Rim. About the role
This is a newly created position that will support the procurement function within PMG, with a focus on optimising value from the acquisition of goods and services. The role will be responsible for executing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and supporting the efficient functioning of the procurement department.
You will be responsible for supporting the team through the effective support & management of procurement programs and governance to procurement activities. Awareness of commercial and procurement management techniques with experience in capital Procurement and procurement support.
This hands-on position contributes to the broader procurement activities by supporting continuous improvement, data tracking & management and information lifecycle management. You will be skilled in negotiating strategic purchasing agreements to provide agility in the supply chain through supporting the sourcing strategy.
You will help to create the Procurement Function Framework and lead procurement input into projects and manufacturing whilst supporting all phases of the product lifecycle. You will be excellent in analysing and collecting supply-chain data to support estimating on future projects.
About the candidate
To be successful you will have a broad procurement capability with a proven background working in project-based environments. A key requirement of this role is to have a strong ability to consult and build relationships across the organisation and with clients and key stakeholders is essential, as is someone who can lead a diverse team of individuals.
In addition, you will demonstrate the following:
- At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Good communication and negotiation skills to influence others, engage and build strong rapport with key stakeholders.
- A solid knowledge of procurement management, planning, financing, contracts & business operations;
- Strong analytical, influencing, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Experience with managing change.
- Exceptional reporting skills.
- Effective time management skill, the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities.
- A solid knowledge of procurement management, planning, financing, contracts & business operations
- Experience in Marine Construction or Maintenance – Highly desirable
This role is based in Townsville North Queensland. Applicant must be willing to relocate or reside locally.
The successful candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing and may be required to undergo a medical and/or police check.
