The Role
As the Procurement Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager of Commercial. Your pivotal role involves leading the procurement team and supervising all procurement endeavours within the Snowy 2.0 Owners team. This includes strategic planning, sourcing and effective supplier management aimed at optimising value for the Snowy 2.0 project.
Responsibilities include:
Leading integrated procurement efforts across Snowy 2.0's key delivery partners, streamlining procurement activities and implementing streamlined processes.
Collaborating closely with Snowy 2.0's key delivery partners to devise procurement strategies, plans, tenders, contract adjustments, and evaluation frameworks for the project.
Driving the transition of ongoing procurement activities to new processes and ensuring alignment of new activities with established procedures.
Establishing robust reporting systems to track procurement progress and facilitate transparent communication across the Owners team.
Ensuring comprehensive awareness of procurement activities among the Owners team, managing approval timelines, and upholding contractual obligations for Snowy 2.0.
Overseeing all internal procurement activities of Snowy 2.0 to fulfil project requirements effectively.
Upholding probity in procurement processes, ensuring adherence to organisational policies, practices, and procedures within the procurement team.
Coaching and supporting Snowy 2.0's key delivery partners regarding owner expectations, procurement quality, and documentation standards.
Identifying and addressing urgent procurement needs to mitigate immediate cost and program risks to the project.
Facilitating the transition of ongoing procurement activities to new processes and ensuring alignment with established procedures.
You'll Bring To The Team:
Ideally, you'll hold a Bachelor's degree in addition to demonstrating extensive experience as a project procurement lead, particularly on complex infrastructure projects. You will possess a deep understanding of procurement and supply chain value drivers, coupled with the ability to lead teams, formulate and execute procurement and sourcing strategies efficiently. Your set of skills will include exceptional influencing and negotiation abilities, applicable across all levels of the organisation and with suppliers. Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and broad technical knowledge is essential.
