We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and products essential for our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials, supporting the overall efficiency and profitability of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raise purchase orders for parts and materials
- Coordinate stock orders in accordance with the production plan and customer requirements, expediting and de-expediting orders, as necessary.
- Track lead times on products and advise warehouses on delays.
- Source alternative or substitute parts when required.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and purchase materials and products for sale
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and manage stock to prevent shortages or excess.
- Work with the warehouse to exchange faulty or damaged goods.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and related documentation.
- Ensure customer’s delivery dates are met by providing prompt confirmation of delivery dates of raw materials
Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes & supply chain management - minimum 3 years experience in similar role
- Familiarity with inventory management principles
- Strong organisational ability with demonstrated skills in prioritising, planning, and time management
- Detail-oriented, with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Package (especially Excel)
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
- Experience working in the manufacturing sector with workshops on site.
- Strong Written & Verbal Communication, to both internal and external parties
