About the role
We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join Yarra Ranges Council at our Civic Centre in Lilydale where you will administer, coordinate, and enhance our tendering processes while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and refinement of contractor selection and management policies, provide expert procurement advice to various stakeholders, foster collaborative relationships, and will play a crucial role in driving excellence in procurement processes by ensuring our commitment to transparent, efficient, and best practice procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Administering, coordinating, and supporting tendering processes in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies.
- Contributing to the development and review of contractor selection and best-practice procurement policies and processes.
- Providing contract management and procurement advice to contract supervisors and senior leadership.
- Facilitating pre-tender meetings, responding to tender inquiries, and managing evaluation panels.
- Providing expert advice on contractual matters and seek further guidance as needed.
- Developing and drafting relevant tender documentation for publication as well as tender evaluation reports to ensure alignment with Council requirements.
What you'll bring to our team
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in procurement and tendering processes.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, knowledge of the Local Government Act 2020 is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to collaborate and build effective relationships.
- Exceptional time management, organisation, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software systems and IT solutions.
- Ability to adapt to new information and apply it effectively.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
Salary range between $93,007 and $101,379 (Band 6) per annum, plus 11% superannuation.
