Job description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Support Officer to work with a fast growing organisation within the public sector area based in Caboolture.

Intro Recruitment is partnering with a Government Construction business with projects across Commercial and Residential building and maintenance. Due to recent growth and success our client is looking to appoint aProcurement Support Officer to support the organisation.

Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate comfort in handling individualized tasks, possess self-motivation, and exhibit proactive behavior in seeking assistance, gathering information, and seeking additional work opportunities.
  • Responsibilities will include reviewing data in the specified system and generating Purchase Orders accordingly.
  • The role will entail issuing tenders for works/services, with prior experience in tendering considered advantageous, although training will be provided.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legislative and departmental procurement requirements, actively promoting procurement awareness as a fundamental business function to all departmental personnel.
  • Offer various administrative support functions to members of the Procurement section as necessary.
  • Be prepared to operate within a fast-paced environment with established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance measurement mechanisms.
  • Display professionalism and contribute positively to a cohesive team and organizational culture.
  • Demonstrate initiative and teamwork by appropriately handling inquiries in the absence of senior staff within prescribed timeframes.
Candidate Criteria:
  • Previous experience in procurement and purchasing is highly valued
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc., is essential
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with recurring tasks but being able to maintain a positive attitude and is a team player.
  • Time management with being able to organise and prioritise work being allocated.
