Our client has a newly created position of Product Designer / Coordinator for their Building Products. This position will assist the product development manager in finalising products to market. You will ustilise your CAD skills to finalise/modify existing designs, items/BOM creating within an ERP system. You will also support the development of marketing materials and training utilising a stage gate process.
Product Designer / Coordinator Duties:
- Modify or finalise designs on CAD to meet compliance
- Create and maintain product data and BOM records in ERP
- Maintain a document control system
- BOM creating
- Research legislating building requirements
- Work closely with internal stateholders (purchasing/marketing/sales)
- Ensure smooth flow of information to customers/relevant staff
- Ensure each business brand continues growth of their product offer, to assist in achieving targeting growth
- Become a product knowledge expert
- other duties as required
To be Successful:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Relevant technical qualifications/experience within the building industry
- Proficient in AUTOCAD 2D (SolidWorks is a bonus)
- Excellent communication both verbal and written
- Able to speak in layman terms
- Excellent organisation, time management, and coordination skills
- Ability to follow systems and procedures
- Superior attention to detail
- High level of computer literacy including CAD, ERP'S and MS Office
- Ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to be mentored to learn and grow
