 The position 

This position lives and breathes pizza and amazing food innovations and brings your passion for product development to our customers to create the best Domino’s occasion. 

As the ANZ Product Developer, you are a key member of the development team and will assist with the development of new piping hot Domino’s pizzas, sides, desserts (and more!) for customers across Australia and New Zealand, including developing best practice operations and procedures on how to prepare new products in-store. 

Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with new product development pitches; menu tastings with key internal stakeholders; day to day coordination of new product launches with the promotion planning team, including the documentation of key projects, timelines, and recipes. 

In this position, you will work collaboratively with internal cross functional teams including Purchasing, Supply Chain, Training, Operations and Marketing – playing an active role in assisting with menu development to deliver on business goals.

Key responsibilities 

Reporting to the Head of NPD & Innovation, your role will include: 

• Working collaboratively within the product development team to present the best possible products and concepts to the business 
• Participate in internal stakeholder meetings to deliver on successful product launches and reformulations
• Provide support on Marketing photoshoots and television commercials 
• Manage and assist with the internal Say Cheese studio photoshoots
• Manage the DPI food Business Cases/Variances for the AU and NZ business 
• Support the QA team with product and ingredient micro and shelf-life testing 
• Support internal business uses of the Luv Lab eg Pizza Prep, Luv Lab innovation sessions
• Represent the NPD team in the AU and NZ Promo Planning meeting
• Support Marketing in Menu documentation and development activities
• Assist to Generate Operation Procedures and recipe documentation for Store Kits
• Assist with the maintenance AU and NZ Make Charts
• Identify product/store simplification and optimisation opportunities
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Identify opportunities and provide recommendations within the business
• Assist with the preparation of supplier Innovation sessions 
• Attend supplier factory line trials to assist, review and sign off new products 
• Assist with developing, testing, and implementing new packaging
• Provide feedback to suppliers on products or ingredients currently in development 
• Generate food costs related to new product development and menu adjustments
• Develop and disseminate NPD BOM data to internal stakeholders
• As required manage the weekly functioning of the Domino’s Test Kitchen aka the ‘LuvLab’; product preparation, stock control and cleaning/maintenance

What will you bring to the role? 

• Energy and passion for food and culinary innovation within QSR
• 3-5 years' experience in a food technologist role with demonstrated product launches.
• Proven ability to create collaborative relationships across business departments.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present NPD projects to key state holders.    
• Strong knowledge of bench top to full scale production
• Bachelor's degree in food science, Nutrition or Equivalent degree preferred.
