Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Product Development Manager with a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience. Based out of our head office in Burleigh Heads (Gold Coast); and living by our company motto 'The Sound of Change', we are looking for a dynamic candidate, who can support our Design Team to execute our company's strategy with an innovative approach.
Due to the technical requirements of this position, we will only be interviewing candidates with experience in Product Development and product coordination, particularly relevant to an apparel and/or swimwear brand. Please see those expectations detailed below. In addition, there is an expectation that candidates will possess relevant tertiary or related qualifications.
Reporting to the Global Brand Manager, this is a fast-paced role which will involve managing multiple priorities in an enthusiastic and positive manner. As such, exceptional time management, proven technical ability in Product Development, and demonstrated experience in communicating with offshore suppliers will be advantageous. We expect that the successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, ability to analyse timelines, and capability to communicate between departments.
Key Role Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Expertise in coordinating all facets of production, spanning from the initial sample creation to the delivery of bulk orders in the warehouse.
- Manage sample and production timelines.
- Communicate critical dates, information and any changes with key stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of Cut & Sew garments.
- Experience in communicating and negotiating with offshore suppliers.
- Manage all FOB costs from the factories and update master data to reflect the most up-to-date costs.
- Ensure costings are in line with agreed margin targets.
- Sound PC skills, including Excel and Adobe Illustrator programs.
- Ensure that all tech packs are up-to-date at all times.
- Coordinate sample comments and timelines with designers.
- Compile sample comments and communicate to suppliers.
- Assist Designers with garment drawings, fabric & trim requests.
- Quality control bulk stock that arrives at the warehouse, ensuring there is no discrepancy between approved shipment samples.
- Collect and correlate communication from retail on quality and fit issues.
- Source new suppliers, initial costings & MOQs for any new product.
