About the Position:
Located in our Brisbane Offices with responsibility spanning globally, we are seeking an experience Product Development Manager specialising in electronics and mechatronics.
Leading a small team of highly capable electronics engineers and playing an instrumental role in our Product Development team, you will manage continuous process improvement and new Product Development in electronics.
The projects you will lead will include costing, development, material selection, design and specification, process analysis, software development for Firmware applications, testing and PPAP documentation. In your role you will lead both the product design and the focus around integrating electronic and firmware systems for automotive components.
You will be hands on, leading our designers, toolmakers, production, sales, and QA. The role will also see you liaising directly with our customer & supply base globally, across both OEM and Aftermarket markets.
About you:
You have a passion for growth and innovation in the field of electronics and mechatronics. You are not afraid to get your hands dirty and love challenge. You lead through demonstration, support and inspire our next generation of electronics and mechatronics engineers.
In this role you will be:
- Working within the Automotive OEM or After Market sector for design of vehicle components;
- Embedding Software/Firmware design, development and testing experience;
- Using your knowledge of automotive accessory development processes;
- Drawing on your experience designing products or integrating systems to relevant standards and specifications;
- Designing, creating and managing new products from conception to production;
- A demonstrated knowledge of Team Center, Tool design & GD&T would be an advantage.
Your Experience and qualifications:
- You have demonstrated experience leading a team to success and high performance;
- You have high level project management experience from design through to completion.
- You have strong commercial acumen and business insight
- You have the ability to operate as part of a management team and make strong connections across department to enable you to see the big picture.
- You are able to operate under pressure to meet deadlines and client needs.
- Tertiary Engineering qualification – Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics;
- Experience in mechatronic, electronic or automation engineering;
- Experience in software/ firmware design, simulation and development (preferably using C/C++)
- 3-8 years experience in electronics engineering or related field.
