Role Purpose:
Aesop are seeking a motivated and passionate Product Manager to join our high performing Data Platforms team, based in our purpose-built Head Office in Collingwood Melbourne. This role will report directly into our Data Visualisation and Governance Manager here in Melbourne.
You will work within the Global Data, Analytics & Insights team and is critical role to design/build, run and operate Aesop’s Advanced Analytics Data Platform The role is responsible for delivering outcomes that will help businesses scale and reach their goals, which heavily reliant on their coordination with different teams
What a day in this role might look like:
Data Platform – Own Design, Build and Run, of platform initiatives and support tickets.
Assist with Data Platform Strategy, Vision & Roadmap
Assist with the prioritisation of the most valuable initiatives.
Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs and maintain the required artefacts to help with development and delivery.
Identify areas to improve data collection, storage, processing, automation of processes and analysis capabilities.
Identify areas and opportunities to remove existing dependencies with legacy systems
Ensure wider dependencies and implications for changes are understood, quality of delivery and data reconciliation with source system is actioned and shared with team.
The position will be crucial in assessing and documenting integration impacts for any new data requirements.
Define user stories, acceptance criteria and specifications for business requirements features and enhancements
Manage and maintained – Jira, an agile way of delivering quality work.
Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring the development team is focused on delivering the most valuable features first
Identify and mitigate risks related to data platform development.
Work with Stakeholders, Product Teams and Integration team closely to come up with innovative way to uplift data capabilities for Advanced Analytics Data Platform
Work closely with cross function teams - the tech, Data Analysts and data engineering teams to manage, maintain and deliver the backlog.
Track record of delivering value iteratively using agile development techniques and make sure required documentations and artefacts are maintained.
Manage Operational Support resources and own deliverables for operations support.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
What we are looking for :
Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Information Technology or relevant field or equivalent industry experience
Strong understanding of data architecture, data engineering, integration, data life cycle and management principles
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Knowledge of Data Governance, security and compliance standards would be advantage
3+ years’ proven experience as a Data Platform Product Manager or similar role
Experience working with teams in strategic capacity across all parts of the data ecosystem
Hands on experience in data with deep understanding of issues in multiple areas such as data management, data analysis, query processing, business intelligence and operational excellence of production systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Analytical mindset and ability to work collaboratively with team
