About The Role

You will be responsible for devising and managing the search engine optimisation strategy for ABC web products, including ABC News, while ensuring alignment with the overarching digital strategy and objectives for Product & Technology.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive and oversee the development, implementation and continual review of SEO strategies for ABC web products, including ABC News.
  • Drive and develop effective, innovative and measurable ABC audience growth strategies for 3rd party search platforms to achieve objectives that will engage, retain and build new audiences.
  • Lead day-to-day technical SEO management for ABC digital product websites, in line with best practice principles using specialised SEO techniques, tools, monitoring and analysis.
  • Lead collaboration with ABC teams such as digital product, content & editorial divisions to provide technical & content SEO recommendations to teams and enable audience growth and engagement via the search channel.
  • Establish objectives, undertake complex data analysis and provide comprehensive recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders to inform decision making on roadmap development.
  • Develop, articulate and communicate a clear SEO market position for the ABC web products, informed by audience research and analysis, while taking into consideration ABC’s broader audience and strategic objectives, as well as competing products and broader market trends.

About You

  • Demonstrated significant experience in the development and management of search engine optimisation strategy, including experience with news media SEO such as technical requirements for Top Stories, schema and image and video optimisation.
  • Highly developed skills to drive the discovery, development and implementation of new technical & content SEO initiatives to increase product and content performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Extensive experience in collaborating with cross functional teams to achieve high performance and positive workplace culture.
  • Demonstrated significant experience in managing workflows and timeframes across multiple projects.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of current competitive trends in SEO strategy including search algorithms, web metrics & external SEO tools; and ability to share insights with colleagues and key stakeholders.
  • Highly advanced communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels and influence the achievement of shared objectives in an Agile team environment.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for creative and strategic thinking to inspire innovation.
