Exciting opportunity for a Product Owner (CRM) to contribute to the successful delivery of the University's IT program of work, driving forward its Digital Transformation initiatives. Hybrid working arrangement.- A competitive salary package commensurate with skills and experience will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

THE ROLE
The Student 360 Program (S360F) is a key component of the University’s digital transformation, and will establish a digital platform – Salesforce – for student support and administration. The first phase of this project goes live in quarter 3, 2024. S360F will improve our students’ experiences by providing more streamlined and personalised service delivery. A new Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce) will integrate data from multiple systems, to facilitate faster and easier resolution of service requests.
S360F will establish the foundation capability of Salesforce Education Cloud, MuleSoft and AWS Connect, and seek to decommission legacy technology. Future projects within the Student 360 Program are planned across 2025 and 2026, and potentially beyond, before full transition of the Product Owner role into IT Operations.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Transformation Delivery, the role of the Product Owner is crucial, as it will take support ownership of:
- the new Salesforce Education Cloud (EC) ecosystem to be delivered this year;
- the legacy Salesforce Education Data Architecture (EDA) and HSC ecosystems, with a mandate to lead consolidation of these platforms as part of a future phase of the Student 360 Program;
- Macquarie University Hospital’s Salesforce environment and the Macquarie University Sports and Aquatic Centre Envibe CRM.
- the legacy SugarCRM ecosystem, with a mandate to decommission.
This role will eventually lead a team of 5+ CRM technical Specialists to deliver and support the CRM ecosystems and take on complete ownership of all Salesforce environments to drive the vision of the product roadmap and ensure it continuously delivers value for Macquarie University. It will continue to drive and accept delivery of the future planned Student 360 Projects and be responsible for further developing client and business owner relationships within Macquarie and partnering closely with technical SMEs and service teams to deliver great product outcomes for stakeholders and end users.
About You
We are seeking a skilled Product owner who is passionate about user experience and can contribute technically to ensure the backlog, stakeholder and customer needs are addressed in alignment with the university and product roadmap. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical ability, experience in supporting the life-cycle management of a product and excellent communication skills to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Your eye for continuous improvement while working with the university business partners to ensure compliance with policies and procedures will be highly valued.

- Experience managing end-to-end Salesforce service delivery within a DevOps environment, Project/Program Delivery Lead, client engagement, or similar.
- Seasoned team manager who understands the importance of customer journeys and can analyse data and understand target audiences.
- Proven ability to translate customer requirements into realisable solutions, focus on product roadmaps as well as customer and user experience.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with a focus on stakeholder relations and conflict management skills.
- Experience managing diverse and senior stakeholder groups, including IT internal stakeholders and technical teams, project and program delivery teams, business owners and senior leaders.
- Experience in managing Salesforce in alignment with the Salesforce roadmap.
- Experience managing and delivering projects across the project lifecycle combined with strong leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Tertiary qualification with recognised certifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of Mulesoft, AWS Connect, JIRA, Confluence, Miro and Project Management tools.
