AddressMetrohm Australia Pty Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of scientific instrument manufacturer Metrohm (Switzerland). We are also the fully authorised, sole distributor of Retsch, Eltra, Microtrac MRB, Carbolite Gero, Milestone, Biosystems, and Elga Labwater.
We are looking for a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic service team. The position is based in Melbourne, with support responsibilities for all of Victoria as well as other states (required occasionally). Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, servicing and repairing laboratory instruments.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
- Apply your technical knowledge and experience to solve technical problems and perform repairs onsite, in the workshop and via phone or email.
- Install analytical systems and train users in their efficient operation.
- Travel to customer sites for repairs and preventive maintenance. This position requires some overnight travel to respond to customer demands, occasionally at short notice.
- Ensure that repair, calibration and service work is performed in compliance with the manufacturer specifications.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with field service
- Provide application support to customers as required.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships and promote Metrohm service products.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- Experience in operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
- Experience in the calibration and troubleshooting of instruments.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Positive attitude to handling challenging tasks.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Strong inventory and time management skills
- Extraordinary organizational skills to balance customer visits and requests, documentation and reporting to supervisors and management.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft D365, Networking.
- Able to complete tasks with little to no supervision
- Able to integrate into a established team of highly motivated professionals
- A background in chemistry, electronics or mechanical systems would be advantageous.
