Manage the production of BESS, initially in a third-party BESS manufacturing facility, before setting up and managing the company’s own production facility.This organisation is an emerging renewable energy technology company who have developed renewable energy systems with bulk energy storage (incorporating built-in back up) that cost less than the current electricity grid, using proven thermodynamic and fiscal energy optimisation design principles that exceed international standards.

This technology is supported by a group of professionally registered and chartered team of multi-disciplinary Engineers (Biochemical, Chemical, Electro-Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Petroleum, Thermodynamic and Structural) who can deliver turn-key systems through the organisation’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business.

These custom-engineered systems provide highly efficient energy solutions in the commercial, industrial, rural, utilities, mining and residential energy sectors, and incorporate renewable energy production systems (such as wind, solar PV and thermal, geothermal, biogas, biomass etc.) coupled with Energy Storage Systems that utilise a patented hydrogen storage and conversion system and a high energy density hybrid supercapacitor system.

The group also owns a research and developments company, registered with the Australian Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources under the Industry Research and Development Act. They employ 9 post-Doctorate researchers who are experienced in assessing, researching, designing, constructing, commissioning, testing and auditing distributed and/or centralised renewable energy systems utilising proven thermodynamic and fiscal energy optimisation design principles that exceed the most stringent of international standards.

They currently have an opportunity for a BESS Production Manager based in Luoyang City, China who will manage the production of BESS, initially in a third-party BESS manufacturing facility, before setting up and managing the company’s own production facility. We are seeking a suitable candidate who is fluent in Mandarin and English. The job is permanently based in mainland China, with frequent travel between China and Australia. The candidate should have experience in Project management and QA/QC in BESS for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage production schedules.
• Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Assess resource requirements.
• Create, negotiate, and manage budgets and timelines with clients and stakeholders.
• Establish and manage quality control standards.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are met.
• Negotiate timelines and resources as necessary for projects.
• Monitor output and adjust resources and processes to reduce costs.
• Manage the maintenance and repair of production equipment.
• Supervise and train junior staff.
• Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
• Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Monitor production to resolve issues.
• Supervise and evaluate BESS system performance.
• Performance evaluation of the production team.
• Determine the amount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.).
• Approve maintenance work and purchase of equipment.
• Ensure output meets quality standards.
• Enforce health and safety precautions.
• Report to upper management.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• A recognized degree in Engineering, preferably electrical/electronics.
• Project management skills, including Gantt chart usage, budget preparation, and feasibility analysis, are crucial.
• Experienced in carrying out risk assessments and a commitment to workshop safety
• Proficiency in MS Project or PRINCE2 and experience in enterprise resource planning are required.
• Working Knowledge of Engineering Design Software, such as SolidWorks is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of International Standards and Testing for BESS, such as IEC62619, TUV and UL certification.
