Production Manager

Our dedication to quality and customer satisfaction has driven us to expand, and we are thrilled to be seeking an experienced Production Manager to join and support the growing team at our new, state-of-the-art facility.
 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be crucial in steering our production processes towards peak efficiency and excellence while empowering and encouraging staff to achieve their full potential. 

• Leadership and Team Management: Motivate and manage our production floor team of 30 enthusiastic staff, with support from a second Supervisor. Your ability to motivate and coach individuals while driving the energy of the team are key to developing our high-performance environment.
• Hands-On Involvement: Actively engage in the production line to gain a hands-on understanding of each role, with a lead-from-the-front management approach.
• Creative Problem-Solving: When unexpected challenges arise, be ready to tackle them with a creative and solution-focused mindset, maintaining a smooth production flow.
• Performance Tracking: Take personal responsibility for delivering key production KPIs, addressing issues proactively, and reporting key metrics to management.
• Workplace Health & Safety: Ensure all production staff comply with Work Health & Safety, Environmental, and Interstate company policies and procedures. 
• Quality Assurance: Provide oversight and process feedback from the QA team, ensuring checks are performed flawlessly, and any errors identified are traced back to source with corrective action taken.
• Collaborative Coordination: Work with purchasing and design teams to align supply demand and guide new feature design decisions.
• Innovation and Improvement: Demonstrate continuous improvement in weekly reporting meetings, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the production workflow through new components and factory equipment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will bring upbeat enthusiasm paired with a solution-oriented mindset. We require an adept communicator capable of engaging with diverse personality types and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Key qualifications include:

• Extensive LEAN Manufacturing Expertise: A background in LEAN manufacturing will be essential in identifying and implementing optimization strategies for our production line.
• Proven Leadership: Experience in managing teams of 20+ members, boosting morale while guiding them to success and peak performance.
• Practical Experience: A strong background in hands-on manufacturing, able to work the line in order to learn each operator’s role.
• Technical Proficiency: High proficiency with technology, including MRP systems, Project Management tools, and advanced spreadsheet skills for critical data analysis and reporting.  
• Deep Industry Knowledge: A thorough understanding of bill of materials and product flow within a manufacturing setting.
