We’re offering fixed term and permanent opportunities immediately, and over the next 6- 12 months across our Water Resource Recovery facilities.

What’s the role?

Water Resource Recovery are responsible for the operation and optimisation of Sydney Water’s 24/7 wastewater treatment facilities to meet EPA Licence, customer, and community outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner.

This includes the resource recovery of biosolids, energy via co-gen and hydro generation and management of residuals such as grit and screenings across 29 facilities.

• Bondi Hub; based out of Bondi
• Kamay Hub; located in Malabar and Cronulla
• Illawarra Hub; located in Wollongong, Shellharbour, Port Kembla, Bombo, Bellambi
• Blue Mountains Hub; located in Penrith, Winmalee, Richmond, North Richmond
• Georges River Hub; located in Liverpool, Glenfield, Fairfield and Hoxton Park
• Camden Wollondilly Hub; located in West Camden, Picton and Wallacia
• Lower Hawkesbury Hub; located in West Hornsby, Hornsby Heights, Brooklyn and Warriewood
• North Head Hub based out of Manly
• North West Hub; located in Riverstone, Castle Hill and Rouse Hill.
• Wianamatta Hub; located in St Marys and Quakers Hill

Production Officers are responsible for the best practice safe operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment assets to meet statutory product quality standards, whilst meeting customer expectations and efficiency targets. 

This position includes office and outdoor activities while working with a diverse group of employees. You will be offered formal and on-the-job training to skill you for the role.

Who are we looking for?

• Current valid driver’s license and own vehicle
• The ability to commit working on a stand-by roster as per site requirements
• A growth mindset and be a safety champion
• Personal drive for continuous improvement and to contribute to a positive team culture
• Experience in a production, utilities, or asset maintenance environment
• Good people skills and experience in coordinating internal and external service providers to perform maintenance and project works
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Science or a trade qualification are a great asset though not essential. There will be an opportunity for training towards Certificate III in Water Operations as part of the role
• Exposure to quality management systems (ISO 9000, 14000, 4801)
