The Role – Production Specialist
As the Production Specialist, you will support the Compounding Team Leaders in effectively co-ordinating production within the production site. The key focus areas for this role include production efficiency, supporting and maintaining quality standards, customer satisfaction and continuous/productivity improvement. This is a permanent opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step!
Operation Hours - Monday to Friday 7am-11pm, shift roster to be determined
Key responsibilities
Responsibility for day-to-day workflow, including supervision of Flow Controllers and Session Controllers (where applicable)
Work closely with Team Leaders to drive process improvement and efficiency programs, including increasing productivity
Participating in centralized projects at the site level as required
Participates in all aspects of production, in a hands-on role, as required daily
Regularly reporting back to Team Leaders (and/or Pharmacy Manager if appropriate) daily, re any issues which may affect production flow or on-time delivery
Liaise with customer service pro-actively with customer service regarding delivery timeframes or production issues to ensure customer expectations are met
Problem solving
Working with Dispatch team to resolve delivery issues
Ensure quality and EHS standards and procedures are being maintained
Initial point of escalation for quality issues or complaints
Accountable for promoting and supporting strong working relationships with employees, Team Leaders, and customers through effective, regular and appropriate communication
Support Team leaders in developing a positive team culture
Supporting Team Leaders and Training Coordinators to ensure scheduled training and coaching occurs
Supporting Team Leaders in performance management by providing feedback on individual performance
Responsible for monitoring end of day production and ensuring preparedness for next production day.
Essential skills & qualifications
2 years’ experience as a session controller/senior technician or a Pharmacist
Relevant production experience and demonstrated understanding of PS operations at a site level
Demonstrated sound leadership qualities
Proven effective communication skills
Proven ability to make decisions based on sound professional judgement
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
Demonstrated success in a role that requires significant prioritizing, organizing and multi-tasking
Ability to articulate understanding of, and commitment to, continuous improvement
