Senior Management role as a Professional Engineer and project manager within a company that has been in business for 33 years. Your primary role will be focused on the interpretation of engineering specifications, namely electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and fire systems. This includes all shop drawings for the building services to be designed, the electrical reticulation within multi-disciplined buildings including hospitals, data centres, hotels, commercial and residential towers.
Engineering of these projects, under the “Design and Construct” contract type. Coordination of designs with all subcontractors to identify electrical loads requirements for all building equipment.
Primary focus on electronic and electrical systems including PLC and BMS control systems.
Function as an effective member and leader of a diverse engineering team, including those with multi-level, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural dimension.
Takes initiative and fulfils the leadership role whilst respecting the agreed roles of others within Appselec. You will need to be motivated, reliable with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interpretation of the system requirements and specifications focusing on re-engineering alternative offers with an intent of bettering the design. Proficiently apply advanced technical knowledge and skills in electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplines.
Integration of all building services over a converged network to a central BMS. Communication back bone system design requirements, liaison with all services trades for power and communication requirements.
Creation of single line schematics for the reticulation design for HV and LV systems within buildings, including main switchboard designs, distribution boards, emergency and exit lighting, earthing grids, etc
Apply various principles of engineering design to break down all trades electrical and electronic requirements.
Development of shop drawings and engineering design documentation for all works and processes. Ensure that the electrician on site is able to interrupt the drawings and install what is required.
Fundamental understanding and application of relevant standards and codes of practice, as well as legislative and statutory requirements. A focus on the principles of safety engineering, risk management and the health and safety responsibilities of the Professional Engineer.
Working with operations managers for planning, organising and managing of site resources. Report directly to the managing director for engineering approvals and purchase orders issuing
Project management of multiple design projects. You will be the first point of contact with the builder and delegate the tasks out to the project team.
Sub-contractors negotiations, purchase order placements and updates to the purchase orders. As a Professional Engineer, your understanding of multidiscipline engineering will be a necessity as our subcontractor include:

Financial management of variations to the contract documents, design and engineering of client changes and management of the various projects. You will be responsible for ensuring design changes are captured on shop drawings in a timely manner. Managing a fixed price project and re-engineering the system to be meet the brief whilst being profitable.
Working with Operation and Site managers to deliver the project.

Minimum 4 years of relevant market experience in engineering and project management.
On-site commissioning experience for electrical and control systems is preferred
