FinXL IT Professional Services is a leading IT services organisation providing a broad range of services to assist large Australian enterprises and Government departments to deliver IT projects.
We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer with Defence experience and NV1 clearance to join our team at a highly regarded organisation. Telecommunications experience would be a big plus.
NV1 clearance is mandatory.
The Systems Engineer will be part of a small team and will assist with the completion of a large number of tasks and documentation to enable our client to adequately sustain a vital satellite communications facility.
The Systems Engineer will be required to undertake a wide range of engineering tasks in support of Project delivery. The role will also be responsible for the provision of sound engineering advice to the Project Manager on all aspects of the support program, including maintenance of an Engineering Management Plan, identifying opportunities for continual improvement and identifying opportunities for future growth in the program. Assistance in resultant bids and proposals will also be a role for this new and exciting position.
Key responsibilities:
- Engineering Management of a satellite ground station within an ASDEFCON framework
- Safety and risk engineering and management for the project
- Development and maintenance of engineering reporting
- Supplier and sub-contractor relationship management
- Communications with key engineering stakeholders
Skills & experience required:
- 5 - 10 years' experience in Defence Engineering Projects
- Relevant Engineering qualification
- Must have an active Australian Government security clearance (NV1)
- Outstanding track record of success in meeting engineering objectives within the Defence and Government environments
- Understanding of satellite communications and satellite ground stations would be ideal
- Telecommunications experience would be a plus
- Good understanding of change Management governance and processes
- Knowledge/experience with ASDEFON suite of documents
- Ability to travel regularly both regionally and internationally, up to 50%
- Be fluent in English speaking and be an Australian citizen
- Active Australian Government security clearance (NV1)
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Strong background in risk management
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and change in a fast-moving environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- CPENG or equivalent accreditation (desirable - not essential)
