  • VPS Grade 6: $130,673 - $174,869 plus superannuation.

About Us:

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer, and stronger Victoria.

The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.

Procurement and Property Services monitors and reports on procurement performance and manages several high-profile strategic projects to minimise procurement risk and support the delivery of value for money. It is also responsible for the effective operation and management of asset maintenance, fleet and property, and facilities management services across the department.

About the Role:

The role works closely with the Senior manager, Strategy Implementation team and Senior Project Managers to ensure the delivery of a series of strategic projects within the Strategy Implementation team which make up a larger program of works. This program is responsible for delivering and implementing procurement and property strategy on behalf of the CPO and to drive the delivery of the department's strategic objectives through the provision of procurement and property services.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Assisting with the development of briefs for the Strategy Implementation team.
  • Scoping, leading and delivering strategic projects relating to Procurement and Property Services, with a focus on strategy and the creation of value for money.
  • Identifying, developing and leading continuous improvement across Procurement and Property Services.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Strategic planning: Has a comprehensive understanding of external and internal issues that influence the strategic direction of the organisation and ensures the overall strategic plan cascades to operational and team planning processes and performance plans.
  • Business acumen: Drive a culture of value for money for the department.
  • Project Management: Is a thought leader in project management with extensive experience of successful delivery of complex programs and projects in a government context.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, contract management or service delivery is highly desirable.
  • Experience / understanding of government procurement and policies will be highly desirable.
