About the Role
Join us as the Program Manager, Scholarly Development (Research) at the University of Melbourne's libraries, where you'll empower graduate researchers and academic staff through skill development across the research lifecycle. Coordinate a diverse offering of support services, including both synchronous and asynchronous workshops and resources, and lead initiatives like the internationally successful Visualise Your Thesis programme. Through cross-team collaboration and considered stakeholder engagement, ensure the Library’s researcher support services align with the University’s strategic initiatives and a rapidly changing scholarly environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating design, delivery, monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of scholarly researcher development programs and resources for staff and graduate research students, focusing on information management and Scholarly Development.
  • Managing communications, data, reporting, and staff capability development for Scholarly Development research programs.
  • Cultivating and sustaining high-level relationships with professional and academic stakeholders to ensure the delivery of relevant programs, services, and resources meeting researchers' needs.

We’re seeking a flexible and innovative Program Manager with exemplary interpersonal skills, adept at fostering productive relationships with senior academic staff, students, and professional colleagues. Your demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with senior stakeholders will be instrumental in refining our programs, resources, and services for the academic research community. With your strong organisational skills, you'll efficiently manage multiple tasks and partnerships, ensuring successful outcomes. You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline or equivalent experience in tertiary education or similar environment.
  • Expertise in research lifecycle and higher education issues, particularly in researcher development.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and enhance researcher development programs in hybrid environments.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, innovative, and high-achieving work environment that values teamwork and continuous improvement.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

Scholarly Services provides research support and deep professional expertise in a number of key areas. Scholarly Services is comprised of two key portfolios: Research and Collection Stewardship and Teaching and Learning Innovation. It operates within Student and Scholarly Services as part of the Chief Operating Officer Portfolio
