Infrastructure Services Division is looking for a Senior Program Officer to work within a small team, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple government agencies, delivering sporting infrastructure projects for schools. A background in program or grants administration would be desirable.
With a focus on Go for Gold and Playgrounds & Tuckshops programs, the team provides strategic advice, program management and administration ensuring the program outcomes align with strategic objectives.
This role will be part of a small program team will report to the Director, Portfolio Investment within the Portfolio Investment and Performance Unit.
Accountabilities of the role
- Identify and analyse strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable solutions and strategic advice to senior managers within the program.
- Contribute to the development of a range of key activities for the program including strategic and operational planning, reporting, performance and risk management.
- Achieve a strong client service focus for all project activities by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with departmental business units and other stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and report to the Manager on various projects and action items and undertake investigation, research and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
- Provide regular reports on the delivery of project milestones on a range of issues and providing strategic advice and analysis about policy, programs and legislation relating to the program.

Qualifications and experience
Although this role does not have a specific mandatory qualification, formal qualifications in relevant discipline is desirable.
Experience in a similar role is required.

The ideal applicant will have demonstratable experiences managing high scrutiny programs, ensuring key milestone dates are met in consultation with internal and external (multi-agency) stakeholders.
