AddressOur client is a manufacturer located in the western suburbs of Melbourne. They are seeking a Project/Cost Accountant to join their team for a 9-month contract role.
About the role
Are you a skilled cost accountant with a strong background in the manufacturing industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Cost Accountant to assist in an exciting project for a 9-month contract.
- Partner with the operations team in managing forecasts, budgets, cashflow and costing
- Support a non-finance team and assist in cost management
- Monitor project costs and ensure they align with established budgets
- Provide analytical support and insights on project costs and budgeting
- Manage and reconcile cost data using SAP and Excel
- Handle ad hoc cost accounting responsibilities as needed
- Deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
About you
- Proven experience in cost and project accounting, preferably within the manufacturing industry
- You have worked in a large project environment
- Proficiency in SAP and Excel is essential
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate and interpret financial data
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders
- Meticulous approach to managing and analysing project costs
- The role is based 4-5 days per week at the manufacturing site in the western suburbs
- You are immediately available
- You have a car and license (there is not public transport near the office)
- Salary is $130,000 plus superannuation, which will be converted to a day rate
