About Our Client:
Our client is a leading property development company in Perth, Western Australia, known for its innovative and sustainable development projects across a variety of sectors including commercial and residential spaces. We are currently seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join a dynamic team and contribute to the financial management of a diverse portfolio of development projects.
Role Summary:
As a Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial planning, monitoring, and reporting of development projects. You will work closely with Development Managers and the finance team to ensure accurate financial tracking, reporting, and analysis of project costs, revenues, and profitability. This position requires a proactive, analytical individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles and construction project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly project financial reports, including budget vs. actual analysis, project forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Collaborate with Development Managers to ensure accurate and timely capitalisation of project costs.
- Monitor project budgets, identifying variances, and providing insights and recommendations to project teams and management.
- Manage project invoicing, ensuring timely billing and collection of project revenues.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models and feasibility studies for new projects.
- Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for project-related financial audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and financial procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Participate in the development and improvement of financial systems and processes to enhance project reporting and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CA qualification is highly regarded.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction, real estate, or property development industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and project accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
